Stephen Curry: Three-Point Contest Champion. Finally.

Stephen Curry keeps adding to his already impressive list of accomplishments. The latest addition to the Golden State Warriors point guard’s resume is: 2015 Three-Point Contest Champion.

Curry had participated in the Three-Point Contest on NBA All-Star Saturday Night three times before this year, but as everyone says, fourth time’s the charm. Right? Well, close enough.

Curry has already solidified himself as one of the best three-point shooters, and overall shooters, in NBA history. He set the NBA record for most three-pointers in a single season (during the 2012-13 season) with  272. He’s made 11 threes in one game (during his 54-point game at Madison Square Garden). In his career, he’s a 43.3 percent three-point shooter.

More from Golden State Warriors

Curry said before the contest that if he didn’t win, he’d like his fellow Splash Brother, Klay Thompson, to win so that the title stayed in the Warriors’ family. Thompson made it into the final round with Curry, but Curry ultimately won the title. Curry must feel relieved to have finally won the Three-Point Contest after failing to do so three times before this year.

Curry (23), Thompson (24), and Kyrie Irving (23) finished with the highest scores in the first round and were the three finalists. All three of those scores were incredible and truly marked how competitive the Three-Point Contest was this year and how talented each contestant is. Curry upped the ante in the final round though.

After finishing with a score of 23 in the first round, Curry scored 27 points in the final round, which is the most points ever scored in a Three-Point Contest. Curry had never scored more than 35 points in the Three-Point Contest before, but his total of 50 points this year set his personal record and is the most ever by a Warriors player in this contest. Curry also made 13 threes in a row in the final round, which is the second best in the history of the Three-Point Contest to Craig Hodges, who had 19 in a row in 1991.

And here’s how some of Curry’s teammates reacted to Curry’s win too:

Curry is a three-point champion. He’s an NBA superstar. He’s an MVP candidate. He’s the face of the Warriors. He’s the future of the Warriors and the NBA.

Curry continues to rise to the occasion and elevate his game to new heights. He continues to make his case for why he’s the best shooter in NBA history, and the story continues.

With his momentum and confidence at an all-time high, Curry will look to make a splash at tomorrow’s All-Star Game and could definitely make a case for why he should be named All-Star Game MVP.

Congrats to Curry on winning the Three-Point Contest! Dub Nation is incredibly proud.
