Pro: Majority of his Tackles are Unassisted

Last season, Suh had a total of 53 tackles, and only nine of those tackles were unassisted. In his career, Suh has 239 tackles total, and only 59 of them were assisted.

Getting tackles, in general, has also been an issue for the Raiders’ defensive line. Tuck, last season, was the only defensive lineman on Oakland that had more than 40 tackles. The rest of the line had less than 30. Only linebackers Mack and Moore had more than 70 tackles for the Raiders last season.

Adding Suh would provide Oakland with a fourth tackle heavy player, which would be most beneficial to a Raider defense that ranked 22nd in opponent rush yards and 16th in opponent pass yards.

Con: Comes with High Price Tag

It is has been speculated that Suh is worthy of receiving a multi-year, $100 million contract, and that his contract should exceed the likes of J.J. Watt‘s six-year, $100 million deal. However, if Suh were to come to Oakland, he would probably not get that kind of money.

Also, why waste that much money on a player who gets fined over $100,000, every season? Suh may be worthy of a max-contract, but he needs to play smarter if he wants to make it worth while for his team.

Overall, Suh would be an outstanding addition to the Raiders, but his over aggression may bring back bad memories of the Seymour project. Also, it is unlikely that he will sign the Raiders, since it seems Suh has made Detroit his primary interest. But why pass up the opportunity of signing one of the NFL’s best defensive players?
