Golden State Warriors Have Ultimate Home Court Advantage

The Golden State Warriors have the best record in the NBA at 34-6. They’ve surprised and impressed during their historic start to the season.

The Warriors have also been completely dominant at home so far during the 2014-15 season. Last season, the Warriors greatly underachieved at home, especially considering the fact that the Warriors have the most energetic, influential home crowd in the NBA.

They finished the 2013-14 season with a 27-14 record at home, which isn’t awful but certainly could’ve been better. The Warriors lost several games at home last season by playing down to their opponent, and Warriors head coach Steve Kerr ensured fans at the beginning of the season that the Warriors would improve their play on their home court.

Warriors fans make Oracle Arena roar with their infectious energy and endless enthusiasm. No matter who the Warriors are playing, Dub Nation comes to Oracle and represents every night. They’ve had 102 straight sellouts, and that streak is likely to continue through this season and beyond.

The Warriors have taken advantage of these qualities this season, as they have gone 19-1 at home so far this season. With their win against the Houston Rockets on Wednesday, the Warriors set a franchise record with 17 straight wins at home. The Warriors are on such a roll at home that they haven’t lost at Oracle Arena since November 11th against the San Antonio Spurs.

After the game against the Rockets, both Kerr and Stephen Curry spoke of the Warriors’ play at Oracle Arena this season and the home court advantage that Dub Nation gives them:

“Our goal from the beginning of the season was to control our home court, and we knew if we could win the majority of our home games, the vast majority of them, then it would put us in great shape, which is exactly what’s happened, 34-6,” Kerr said. “Fortunately, we’ve played well on the road too. This is as good a home crowd as there is, and we’re tough to beat here. That’s been one of the highlights of the season for me is just seeing our team establish our dominance here at home.”

“I remember a time when we couldn’t get 17 wins on the season at home, so it means a lot to be able to be consistent every single night we step on the Oracle floor and put together some pretty dominant performances,” Curry said. “We want to keep that momentum going throughout the course of the season, and that’ll put us in a good position when it comes to comparing ourselves to the rest of the league and the rest of the Western Conference if we take care of our home court.”

To further display the Warriors’ dominance at home so far this season, take a look at these stats when the Warriors play at Oracle Arena:
