Golden State Warriors: Pacific Division Power Rankings

The Golden State Warriors are nearing the halfway point of the 2014-15 season, so it’s time to assess how they stack up against the other teams in their division. Here are power rankings for the Pacific Division at this point in the season:

1. team. 41. The Warriors have the best record in the NBA, and they currently lead the Pacific Division by six and a half games. They have just a 5-3 record against the division, but the Warriors are still the best team in the division, the Western Conference, and even the NBA. 2. team. 77. The Warriors’ biggest rival, the Los Angeles Clippers, own the number two ranking in the Pacific Division. The Clippers still have an impressive record and they are currently the sixth seed in the Western Conference, but this season’s Clippers squad is not as powerful and dangerous as last season’s team. The Phoenix Suns are three games behind the Clippers for the number two spot in the standings, and the Suns are currently hanging onto the eighth seed in the Western Conference. The Suns had a collective breakout season last year, but they ultimately finished with the ninth seed in the Western Conference. It’s quite possible that the Suns travel the same path this season, as the Oklahoma City Thunder are a powerful team that are yet to make a big run. The Thunder’s 19-20 record doesn’t quite reflect their potential, and they could certainly surpass the Suns in the standings. The Suns have solid weapons in <strong><a href=. (24-18). Previous: . 20. Historically, it’s hard to imagine that the Warriors and the Clippers rank higher in the standings and power rankings than the Los Angeles Lakers.
