In 2015, I expect Tim Hudson to have a season more like the first half of 2014 and not the second half of 2014. I don’t think he’ll be quite as dominant as he was at the beginning of the 2014 season, but I think this offseason surgery will help him stay stronger throughout the 2015 season.

Even if Hudson isn’t at full strength during Spring Training or at the beginning of the 2015 season, he will prove to be a solid number four starter (assuming, and partially hoping, he’d start behind Madison Bumgarner, Matt Cain, and Peavy) as he works his way into game shape and finds his rhythm.

He might not finish 2015 with a below-3.00 ERA like he had in the beginning of 2014, but I could see him finishing 2015 with a 3.50 ERA or slightly better.

Especially now that Hudson has finally won a World Series title, Hudson could easily come into 2015 with more confidence. Also, after having a successful offseason surgery, Hudson could also come into the 2015 season with more confidence in his health and stability.

I don’t expect an All-Star type of season from Hudson, and I’m keeping my expectations somewhat low. However, I’m confident that Hudson can bounce back from this surgery and contribute regularly to this Giants team.

As Giants fans said last season, rally Huddy!
