Offseason Moves

With the benefit of hindsight being 20/20, we now have the ability to grade the offseason moves that owner Vivek Ranadive and general manager Pete D’Alessandro made in 2014.

Starting with what could have been a disaster, the team opted to let fan-favorite Isaiah Thomas go and sign Collison in his stead. The move had fans scratching their heads, but now that Collison is in the midst of a career year, the move looks better and better. The only real need we have from Collison is to bump those assist totals up and to push the ball a bit harder on the fast break.

An under-the-radar signing came in the form of Eric Moreland, who has not actually seen a lot of time on the floor for the Kings this year. He has seen time for the Reno Bighorns in the D-League though, and he has been tearing it up at a clip of over 10 and 10 with points and boards (59.2 field goal percentage) and over 1 block and steal per game as well on the defensive end.

The Kings have been looking for a four that can stretch the court and provide some help-side defensive pressure, and the Oregon State product could eventually provide that.

Now, on to Stauskas…
