Last week, I started a series of articles called the San Francisco Giants Mailbag. This week, I asked fans over Twitter and members of the Golden Gate Sports team if they had any questions about the Giants that they’d like me to answer. I’ve picked the best questions and answered them in this second edition of the Giants Mailbag.
The Giants haven’t made any flashy offseason moves so far, but their name has been mentioned in several rumors involving big free agents or other big-name players such as Jon Lester, Chase Headley, James Shields, and others.
The Giants were unsuccessful in signing any of those players, but they have re-signed Sergio Romo and Jake Peavy and acquired third baseman Casey McGehee. These moves address some of the major areas where the Giants needed to improve this offseason, but they still have areas that need to be addressed, such as left field. This issue and others will be discussed in the upcoming questions.
If you have any questions that you’d like me to answer for next week’s Giants Mailbag, please leave a comment, and I will try to answer it in next week’s article.
Let’s get started with the first question.
