Brandon Scherff: Offensive Tackle, University of Iowa
Brandon Scherff is known for his excellent run blocking ability, a quality that is lacking with the current Oakland offensive line. Scherff is a 6’5″, 320-pound senior, who earned himself the 2014 Outland trophy, an award that is given to the best offensive lineman in college football, as well as the Rimington Pace Offensive Lineman of the Year award from the Big Ten Conference.
Although Scherff is projected to go as the eighth overall pick, the Raiders could still land him at four if they are smart or they could draft someone else such as Marcus Mariota (should he fall to the fourth pick) and trade down for him. In that trade, maybe get some other linemen from that team, because it will take more than one to have an adequate line.
