Two days later, the team took their talents to South Beach to take on the Miami Heat. Too bad for Miami, the only ‘heat’ of the night came from Curry. Curry went into human torch mode, dropping 40 points while also adding seven assists and six rebounds. Curry was truly ridiculous, hitting from anywhere and everywhere he wanted. At one point, Curry was 6-for-6 from beyond the arc, and he finished an outstanding 8-for-11 from downtown.
Just to give you an idea of how hot Curry was that night:
The whole offense was impressive, as the team scored 30 or more points in each of the first three quarters, and the defense also was tremendous, making things difficult for Miami all night. Unlike the final score indicates, this game was close throughout. It was tied with about five minutes to go in the game, but it was all Golden State down the final stretch.
A pair of threes by Thompson, a three-pointer and a couple of trips to the charity stripe by Curry and several defensive stops brought the game from tied to a 14-point lead in a matter of minutes. 114-97 was the final.
Six wins in a row and an 11-2 record.
