The Duff-man was called up to the major leagues late last year, and quickly became a fan favorite. His fun, laid-back attitude, and knack for coming up with a big hit, endeared him to Giants’ fans, and his teammates, in no time. Now, he heads into the 2015 season with an opportunity to be a big league regular.

This kid, all 170 pounds of him, can flat out hit. He is a career .304 hitter in the minor leagues, and was tearing it up for Double-A Richmond before getting the call to the show. He was raking, at .332 with 24 doubles and 62 RBI’s as a Flying Squirrel. Despite skipping Triple-A completely, he held his own against top level arms, hitting .267 as a Giant.

Defensively, Duffy has played third base just three times in the minors, and only twice in the majors. Overall, he is solid as a gloveman, and is most likely athletic enough to handle a more permanent shift to the hot corner.
