Along with that came speculation that dealing Thompson for Kevin Love or being unable to keep Thompson long term would have also contributed to pushing Curry away from Golden State.

Curry was firm in letting everyone know he wanted to continue playing alongside Thompson, a wish the Warriors thankfully granted.

With Thompson secured safely on board for the duration of Curry’s current contract, the Warriors keep the Splash Brothers together and with it, Curry’s trust and support.

But even if the speculation was all fluff, knowing that Thompson and Curry are going to remain teammates for the time being is exciting.

If they weren’t the best backcourt in basketball already, they’ll have plenty of time to get there.
