The Wild History of Game 6

4.) Kirby Puckett Single-handedly Beats the Braves

Puckett was a great man, but an ever better baseball player. His flame burned bright, and we are all worse off without his magnetic personality in the world of modern baseball.

His performance in Game 6 of the 1991 Fall Classic still resonates as one of the finest individual moments in the history of playoff baseball.

Puckett’s huge day created a Game 7 for Jack Morris and a reinvigorated Twins fan base. Morris pitched a 10-inning, complete game shutout against the Atlanta Braves, ultimately guiding the Twins to a 1-0 win and a spot in World Series history.
