The Wild History of Game 6
1.) Carlton Fisk Delivers for Red Sox
In 1975, Boston Red Sox catcher, Carlton ‘Pudge’ Fisk, delivered one of the most historic moments in New England sports lore.
After four hours of intense baseball, Fisk pounded a ball down the left field line – coercing it with voodoo-like influence as it traveled in the night sky – and sent the Sox to Game 7 with a walk-off home run in the 12th inning against the Pete Rose lead Cincinnati Reds.
What is considered to be one of the best overall games in baseball’s history ended in a fashion that only the World Series can provide.
