Golden State Warriors: 5 Reasons Fans Should Be Excited For 2014-2015 Season
With less than a month left until the start of the 2014-2015 NBA season, expectations are starting to grow heavy for teams all around the league. One team in particular, the Golden State Warriors, have a lot to look forward to this upcoming season, and due to that, have had some enormous expectations put on them.
Last season, the Warriors finished the regular season with a 51-31 record and clinched the sixth seed in the Western Conference. However, an Andrew Bogut injury and a wild playoff series later, Golden State was eliminated from the postseason from the third-seeded and local rival Los Angeles Clippers.
Now, the Warriors have no other option but to look forward to the future and what lies ahead. Here are five reasons why Warriors fans should be thrilled for the upcoming 2014-2015 season.
1. Steve Kerr Era
The Warriors will be starting this season fresh with a brand new head coach in Steve Kerr. Kerr, the 15-year veteran and 5-time NBA champion, has been regarded as the missing piece to take the Warriors to the next level. His willingness to bring in a new system and the triangle offense to the Bay Area has gotten Warriors fans hyped up already.

2. Klay Thompson Is Still In The Bay
Despite what a good amount of fans will say, the Warriors were smart to keep Klay Thompson on the team and not trade him to the Minnesota Timberwolves for Kevin Love. Though most thought the Warriors would pull the trigger and send their sharpshooter out of town, Golden State’s front office made the right decision and stayed put to kept one of their core franchise players on the team. Fans should be excited to see Thompson splash another couple hundred 3-pointers this season.
3. Stephen. Curry.
Stephen Curry, one of the most exciting players in the NBA, has really blossomed into an NBA superstar over the past few years. Warriors fans have been blessed to watch him dominate the league on a consistent basis and after having a successful summer winning the gold medal in international play with Team USA, Curry is more than poised for another electric season. He just always seems to get better and better.

4. Oracle Arena
The Warriors won’t be playing at Oracle Arena for much too much longer, so every season (and game!) at their roaring stadium in front of their screaming fans will be amazing. Warriors fans really know how to cheer for their team, and they always come out to support their team even when the team failed to play up to their standards. With Golden State’s incredible success over the past few years, fans at Oracle Arena have gone bonkers night in and night out rooting for their home team.
5. Depth
Golden State made some solid acquisitions this offseason, including guys like Brandon Rush, Shaun Livingston, and Leandro Barbosa. These three players’ numbers may not jump out at you on the stat sheet, but they can definitely do some damage to opponents. Livingston provides the Warriors with a quality backup point guard to Stephen Curry, while Rush can provide some more outside shooting and perimeter defense, and Barbosa’s speed and quickness will help the Warriors get to the hoop more and pile on the transition points.
All in all, these five reasons are just the beginning of Warriors fans’ excitement. This upcoming season should provide fans with lots of entertainment and adrenaline.
