It’s not exactly breaking news to say that football is played in two halves. But watching these teams, you might think that they only play a half. For the Eagles, the game seems to start after halftime, while the 49ers games end at the halfway point.

The Eagles have outscored their opponents 74-24 after the break. They won their first two games despite being down by at least two touchdowns in the second half. In the first game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Eagles outscored the Jags 34-0 after being behind by 17 at the start of the third quarter.

San Francisco is the exact opposite. They have been outscored 52-3 in the first three games, and are the only team in the NFL with zero second-half touchdowns. The 49ers have relinquished two halftime leads and come away with losses.

It will be interesting to see if the 49ers can fix their problems coming out of the half. If they can’t figure something out, Philadelphia could have a huge game when they shine the most.
