The San Francisco 49ers (1-1) will face the Arizona Cardinals (2-0) on Sunday afternoon in the first NFC West duel of the young 2014 season.

The 49ers are coming off of an embarrassing loss on Sunday Night Football to the Chicago Bears. They led 17-0 at one point before losing momentum and were outscored 28-3 the rest of the way to lose 28-20.

Arizona went on the road in week two and faced the New York Giants with starting quarterback Carson Palmer injured. Fill-in quarterback Drew Stanton led the Cardinals to a 25-14 victory and will start for the Cardinals once again against the 49ers.

The 49ers enter this contest having won nine of the past 10 matchups between these two teams. San Francisco looks to avoid their second consecutive 1-2 start to a season. Following last year’s 1-2 start, they were 11-2 in the next 13 games.
