The small forward position is where things can be shaken up if Kerr plays his cards correctly. Harrison Barnes was chosen seventh overall in the 2012 NBA Draft and started as a rookie that year.

Before the 2013-2014 season the Warriors acquired Andre Iguodala from the Denver Nuggets and slid him into the starting spot at small forward, potentially stunting Barnes’ growth. Iguodala started all 63 games he was healthy and averaged 9.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 1.5 steals per game, while Barnes posted 9.5 points and 4.0 rebounds while averaging four fewer minutes than Iguodala over the course of the season. Iguodala earned First-Team All-NBA Defense honors and finished third in plus/minus rating (+567).

A platoon situation may be in effect with these two talented wing players, with Iguodala more than likely getting the starting nod to shut down the opponent’s wing scorers.
