The San Francisco 49ers enter the 2014 regular season as Super Bowl contenders, yet they may not even be the favorite to win the NFC West. That’s because of the reigning Super Bowl Champion Seattle Seahawks, who will look to capture the division title for the second year in a row.
Although the 49ers may be undermanned defensively, their offensive additions should do enough to compensate. However, the nature of the NFL season encourages surprise breakthroughs and astonishing stories.
