Curry, Stephen Curry’s younger brother, became a Warriors’ fan favorite quickly. He was invited to attend Warriors’ training camp last year, and Warriors’ fans would cheer for him to come into games during the preseason. He also played in Santa Cruz for the Warriors’ Development League affiliate for most of last season.

In Santa Cruz, he averaged 19.7 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 5.8 assists on 43.7 percent shooting from the field, 37.2 percent shooting from three-point range, and 85.3 percent free throw shooting.

He had short stints with the Memphis Grizzlies and the Cleveland Cavaliers last season as well. He also played well in the Summer League this year for the Orlando Magic and the Phoenix Suns.

  • The Warriors could consider signing Curry as the third point guard for several reasons. First of all, if the Warriors decide that they’re ready to part ways with Nedovic, Curry is possibly the best option because of familiarity. He was in training camp with the Warriors last year, he spent the majority of last season with their D-League affiliate, and obviously, his older brother can attest to Seth’s talent and work ethic.

Second, he’s a sharp shooter, just like his older brother. The Warriors were in desperate need of more shooting on the bench, and they helped that issue with the signing of Rush. They haven’t necessarily solved that issue though, and Curry would obviously add another dangerous threat from three-point range off the bench. He’s proven that he can shoot at the NBA level, and that’s more than Nedovic and Craft can say.

Third, Curry spent time in his college career at Duke and in Santa Cruz last season working on his ball handling and his ability to play point guard. His ball handling can translate to the NBA level, which is, again, more than Nedovic and Craft can say. He’s become a better passer, distributor, and point guard, and he probably has the edge over Nedovic and Craft in that category as well.

Lastly, if the Warriors signed him, they would have an incredible marketing opportunity. Not that this is as important as his on-the-court contributions, but the fans love the younger Curry and want to see him play alongside his much-beloved older brother. Also, how great would it be to continue the Splash Brother campaign with Stephen Curry’s actual brother, Seth? As mentioned before, this aspect isn’t as important as some of his other impressive qualities, but the marketing associated with having him on the team would certainly be entertaining.

Defensively, Curry isn’t quite on Craft’s level, but he’s a solid defender and better than Nedovic. He also has the edge over both Craft and Nedovic, in terms of ball handling, passing, and, obviously, shooting.

Many Warriors fans would love to see Curry on the Warriors’ Opening Night roster, but do the Warriors see the many benefits of that potential signing?
