For many 49ers’ fans, the name Chilo Rachal almost causes a panic attack. Rachal is infamous in both the 49ers and the Bears’ fanbases. It is pretty amazing that Rachal last three years on the 49ers’ roster. He actually started 32 games in three years for the team. With those numbers some outsiders might think that he was at least serviceable at his position, but 49ers’ fans know differently. Rachal seemed to struggle almost every single snap. When he was in the game, the defense practically lived in the backfield. He was finally cut off of the 49ers, and he then signed with the Bears in 2012. The Bears then went on to have one of the worst offensive lines in the game. After the Bears were manhandled by the 49ers on Monday Night Football in 2012, Rachal left the Bears and disappeared. It was claimed that he left for “personal reasons.” He was put onto the non-football injury list and did not play the rest of the season. He went on to sign with the Cardinals in 2013, but did not make it onto the 53 man roster.
