North continued to provide the spark at the top of the order as the A’s won their fifth straight AL West crown, but had their streak of three straight World Series titles ended.
He was sixth in the American League with a 2.3 Defensive WAR and ninth among AL position player with a 5.8 WAR. Defensively, he led AL center fielders with 22 Total Zone Runs, a 3.32 Range Factor per nine innings and 3.18 Range Factor per game.
