Henderson shook off missing a month in August and September because of a knee injury to post a solid campaign as Oakland won its third straight American League pennant.
He was third among AL center fielders with 20 homers and a .467 slugging percentage.
Henderson had a big year at Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum, hitting .302/.353/.513 in 62 games, with 34 runs, 14 doubles, 11 home runs and 36 RBI. He hit .307/.357/.470 in 51 games after the All-Star break, with 24 runs, nine doubles, six homers and 22 RBI despite being out from Aug. 21 to Sept. 20 after arthroscopic knee surgery.
Henderson was still limited when the postseason began, starting just two of the four games in the A’s sweep of the Red Sox, going 1-for-6 with an RBI and a stolen base. In the World Series against Cincinnati, Hendu was 3-for-13 with two runs, a double and a walk as Oakland went down in four straight.
