Bailey earned the last of his six career All-Star selections in 1963, the last of his three seasons in San Francisco before he was traded to the Milwaukee Braves in December along with Felipe Alou, Billy Hoeft and Ernie Bowman in exchange for Del Crandall, Bob Hendley and Bob Shaw.
He was sixth in the National League with 11 intentional walks.
Bailey led NL catchers with 21 home runs, a .366 on-base percentage, a .494 slugging percentage and an .859 OPS and was second with 68 RBI.
