Canseco wasn’t to blame for Oakland’s fall to fourth place after winning three straight pennants, as he tied for the American League lead with 44 home runs and 13.0 at-bats per homer and finished fourth in the MVP voting.

He also led the league with a 32.7 Power-Speed number, was fourth with a 157 OPS-plus, fifth with a 6.1 Offensive WAR and eighth with 116 Runs Created. He was also tops in the AL with a 5.8 Win Probability Added.
