Reddick was acquired from Boston in a December 2011 trade along with minor leaguers Miles Head and Raul Alcantara in a deal that sent closer Andrew Bailey and outfielder Ryan Sweeney to the Red Sox. In his first full season in the bigs, Reddick delivered, winning a Gold Glove while helping power Oakland to the AL West title and their first postseason bid since 2006.
He was 10th in the American League with 32 home runs, 151 strikeouts and 66 extra base hits.
Reddick led AL right fielders with 32 homers and was third with five triples.
He struggled, though, against Detroit in the ALDS, going 2-for-17. He notched two runs, a home run, an RBI and struck out 10 times as the A’s went down in five games.
