The former Cal Golden Bear had a terrific final season in San Francisco, hitting a career-high 37 home runs and finishing in the top 10 in the MVP voting as the wild-card Giants made a run to the World Series, leading the National League with 81 extra base hits.

Kent was third in the NL with a 6.7 Offensive WAR, fourth with a 7.0 WAR (second among position players) and 10th with 125 Runs Created.

He was also second with 195 hits and 352 total bases, fifth with 42 doubles, seventh with 37 homers, eighth with a .313 batting average and .565 slugging percentage, ninth with 108 RBI and 10th with 102 runs. Defensively, Kent led NL second basemen with 113 double plays.

Offensively, Kent led NL second basemen with 37 home runs, 108 RBI, a .565 slugging percentage and .933 OPS; was second with a .313 batting average and 42 doubles; and third with 102 runs and a .368 on-base percentage.

He was 5-for-19 with three runs and two walks in their win over the Cardinals in the NLCS and went 8-for-29 with six runs, a double, three homers, seven RBI and a walk in the seven-game World Series loss to Anaheim.

After the season, Kent signed a two-year, $17.5 million free-agent deal with the Astros.
