The A’s couldn’t keep up the same level of success as they had in 1981, collapsing to a 68-94 record, but Henderson set a single-season record with 130 stolen bases while earning his first All-Star start and second appearance and earning MVP support along the way. Henderson also led the AL with 116 walks.
He was fourth in the league with a 6.7 WAR (third among position players) and sixth with a 5.7 Offensive WAR and an 18.6 Power-Speed number.
Henderson was also third in the American League with a .398 on-base percentage and fourth with 119 runs.
