San Francisco 49ers inside linebacker NaVorro Bowman has only played four seasons in the NFL. He’s been an All-Pro for three of them now as he was named Friday to The Associated Press NFL All-Pro Team.
Bowman, a third-round draft pick out of Penn State in 2010, had 143 tackles, two interceptions (including a pick-six against the Falcons in the final game at Candlestick Park), nine passes defended, four forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and five sacks.
He was also a first-team All-Pro selection in 2011 and 2012 and is considered one of the most complete inside linebackers in the game because of his versatility and his ability to defend the run and pass equally well.
He set new career highs this season in sacks, interceptions, passes defended and forced fumbles.
Bowman was the only Bay Area player to be named to the first-team.
Earning second-team honors were fullback Marcel Reece of the Raiders along with tight end Vernon Davis, tackle Joe Staley, defensive tackle Justin Smith and outside linebacker Ahmad Brooks.
