Is this my endorsement for the Reds to win their division? It certainly is possible; they’ve won their series against Oakland and Pittsburgh since the All-Star Break. They’ve also lost to the LA Dodgers, San Diego, and St. Louis.

Why do I like Cincinnati more than St. Louis or Pittsburgh? Well, Pittsburgh has showed signs of struggling; it may drop back a bit—St. Louis as well. Pittsburgh has lost 14 games since the All-Star Break and St. Louis has lost 16. Cincinnati has lost 12, which is better than both teams. And while its batting could use some improvement, the Reds’ pitching has been great. In the Major Leagues, they rank fourth in ERA and second in both WHIP and BAA. Pittsburgh’s pitching is arguably doing as well, but their batting is worse. The Cardinal’s pitching is not doing that well, though their batting is better than Cincinnati’s.  The Reds, though, have the best record between themselves, Pittsburgh, and St. Louis in the last ten games; they are 7-3.
