Tiago Splitter

The Kings need to look to adding size, scoring, toughness and rebounding at the power forward position. This would open the game up for Cousins and give the Kings more options in the front court. Some of the best prospects at the power forward position who will be available this summer are Al Jefferson, Paul Millsap, Tiago Splitter, David West, DeJuan Blair, and Emaka Okafor.

Both Millsap and Jefferson are very intriguing players who are both unrestricted free agents from the Utah Jazz, and they will draw attention from several teams. Due to both players’ desire to play elsewhere in combination with their potentially high salaries both be very good potential acquisitions for the Kings.

Tiago Splitter is also a very attractive player with size, the ability to score and share the ball, while also being a very capable defender who rebounds well. Blair is another free agent who has similar unsides as Splitter but lacks the size as his teammate. Splitter and Blair are two of several free agents on the Spurs roster this summer. With Manu Ginobili, Gary Neal, Tiago Splitter and Blair all being unrestricted free agents, the Spurs may be unable to retain the services of Splitter and Blair and stay under the salary cap.

David West is among several names of power forwards and centers who would be difficult to lure to Sacramento.West is having a career defining season, and looks likely to finish his career in Indiana.

Free agents like Chris Kaman and Elton Brand are intriguing prospects but have several downsides related to age and frequent injuries that make them very risky additions. Emeka Okafor could provide a lift but would likely be unable to beat out Jason Thompson for the starting position.

Tiago Splitter, DeJuan Blair, Paul Millsap and Al Jefferson are all players the Kings should be very interested in.
