There’s a reason the Giants spent a lot of money to keep Posey in San Francisco; they knew it wasn’t a fluke when he was named the NL MVP in 2012. Despite a batting average below .300 (it’s currently .287), Posey continues to play well behind the plate as the Giant’s catcher. And don’t let the batting average fool you. Posey had a 10-game hitting streak at one point during the season, and he hit a game-winning home run on May 3 against the Dodgers.
