The Oakland Raiders have re-signed kicker Eddy Carmona, the team announced.
Carmona spent last summer with the Raiders, competing against Sebastian Janikowski before being cut. He has been out of football since.
However, he had drawn interest from several other teams this offseason, including the Packers and 49ers.
“He is a high ceiling player and I think (Green Bay) realizes that,” said Chris Martin, his agent. “He’s got good leg strength. In the preseason last year, he kicked with pretty good range and distance. So he’s not afraid of the big stage or the big moment.”
Ultimately, Carmona finds himself back in the same situation he was in last year — kicking behind Janikowki, perhaps the best in the game.
