AL East: Toronto Blue Jays

The Blue Jays are my pick to finish at the bottom of the American League East. I don’t think Toronto necessarily has a bad team, but they are playing in a tough division and I think the other teams are just better.

The Baltimore Orioles had a great season last year and have continued their good play into the 2013 season; they won’t finish last. The New York Yankees, though they are not going to have as good of a season this year as they did last year, aren’t going to finish last. They might not make the playoffs for only the second time in the last 10 years, but they won’t finish in dead last. I think the Rays will do really well this season as well. After all, they finished only five games back last season.

That leaves the Red Sox, who are currently on top of the AL East. Other analysts have chosen Boston as the AL East losers, but I think their record so far shows they are a better team than we think.

Toronto might finish with a record close to .500, but that won’t be enough to get them out of last place.
