9. Higher Level of Discipline and Focus
In the Super Bowl, it almost looked like the 49ers came into the game knowing they were favored, so they were overly cocky and knew that they would win. When the Ravens came on the field at the beginning of the game and their offense looked great, the Niners got a reality check and played tense the rest of the first half. Once the Niners got over their cockiness and the realization sunk in that they might actually lose, they started playing Niner football. However, it was too little, too late.

Next season, the 49ers need to stay humble and play with more focus. On a huge stage like the Super Bowl, it made sense why the Niners players seemed fired up and overly excited. However, the Niners need to play with more discipline in order to be successful next season. They’re going to have a target on their backs since they are the defending NFC Champions, so the Niners can’t afford to play with cockiness, because this could lead to unsportsmanlike conduct and other costly mistakes. They will have to work hard and fight for every win. Nothing will be given to them.
