What can I say?  This team has the best fans in baseball by far.

Since 1958, fans from the Bay Area (and around the world) have staunchly supported their team, winning season or not.

But its not ticket or merchandize sales that make them so special; it’s the effect they have on the team they cheer for.  Openly expressing their thanks for the continued support of the fans, the Giants always make sure to let their extended family know how much they count, and how much they actually give the team the drive and energy to win.

I’m not saying the team would be any better or worse without the enthusiasm three hundred sixty five days a year, but hell, it sure doesn’t hurt.

So what makes this team so special, let alone have what it take to be contenders for years to come?

Many things.  But the continued support of the front office, the shutdown pitching, the never ending love affair with its fans, and the young core of players put this team at the top.

Stats are important, but in the end, chemistry, continuity, and the support of a city is just enough to attain glory.

If ever there was a team built to win now, it is the San Francisco Giants.
