It was a busy day in Bay Area sports, from Giants Fan Fest to the Kings “Here We Buy” night. Here are the day’s best tweets:
Giants Fan Fest
The Giants hosted their annual Fan Fest today at AT&T Park, and an estimated 35,000-40,000 came out to meet the players. Here are some of the best quotes, via tweets from the local beat writers:
Affeldt to Sandoval as a hitter: "You don't intimidate me. I'll just throw the rosin bag up there and you'll swing at it." #sfgiants.
— Henry Schulman BLUE CHECK MARK (@hankschulman) February 9, 2013
Affeldt on avoiding injuries: "I use the microwave a lot more to thaw things out. I wear two knee braces at home, just in case."
— Alex Pavlovic (@PavlovicNBCS) February 9, 2013
Posey's least favorite place to play is Houston. "Like an empty warehouse." Pence, mock miffed, interjects: "It didn't used to be like that"

Lincecum after getting his haircut: "I had a headache for two days, seriously. It felt like something was wrong."

Where’s Theriot?
*Sent in by Baily Deeter (@DeeterSports)
Where has Ryan Theriot been? He probably won’t be re-signing with the Giants, but that didn’t keep this fan from searching his house for him:
It would be much easier to find Waldo, in my opinion.
#herewebuy
The Kings hosted the Jazz tonight and beat them by double-digits. But that wasn’t the main story.
It was also “Here We Buy Night” in Sacramento, and over 16,000 fans poured into Sleep Train Arena to support their Kings and keep them in town.
We scoured the hashtag #herewebuy and found the best tweets from tonight:
And finally, from mayor Kevin Johnson, who has worked tirelessly to keep the Kings where they belong:
This is the loudest I've heard Sleep Train all year. These fans know this is bigger than basketball! #herewebuy #playingtowin

The Curse of New Orleans
Why have the Sharks and Warriors struggled so much recently? A local writer seems to have figured it out:
Has a Bay Area pro sports team won a game since the penalty on the first play of the Super Bowl? I don't think so.
