The Oakland Raiders have a team that’s widely considered one of the more talented in the league. But with a rising level of talent comes some difficult cuts as the regular season nears – here are five veterans who will likely be shown the door.

It’s been a long time since the Oakland Raiders had a team people were talking about as one of the more talented in the league. A very long time.

But coming off a season in which they went 12-4, were a hair’s breadth from their first division crown in almost 15 years, and made a return trip to the postseason – albeit briefly – the Raiders are looking to build on that momentum.

With some young, hungry talent on the 90-man roster, there are going to be some intense battles waged during training camp this year. Many – if not most – of Oakland’s positions are pretty well set, but there are still some snaps at some key spots up for grabs.

The right tackle spot, the middle of the defense, the back end of the defense, and even at wide receiver, there is going to be some serious, intense competition for not just playing time, but a roster spot altogether.

With only 53 total spots on the opening day roster, there are going to be quite a few guys who don’t make the team. Among them, some veterans who are going to lose out to young, hungry players.

Let’s take a look at five veterans who are very likely going to be pink-slipped before the end of camp…
