The Oakland Raiders escaped Baltimore with an important win over the Ravens – let’s break down the good, the bad, and the ugly from that thrilling victory.

You have to hand it to this team. Unlike a certain TV station, these Oakland Raiders certainly know drama. In a game that was marked by ups, downs, and everything in between, the Raiders escaped Charm City with an important – and incredibly thrilling – win.

In taking down the previously undefeated Ravens, the Raiders moved to 3-1 on the season. And more importantly, they kept pace with the still undefeated Broncos in the AFC West. Winning three of their first four games of the season is a tremendous feat for this team. The fact that their three wins all came on the road makes it even better.

The win was far from easy though. It took some last minute heroics to nail down this important victory. What’s encouraging though, is that those heroics came not just from the offense, but from the defense as well.

It’s an oft-repeated phrase that is seemingly bordering on the overused and trite anymore, but Oakland’s win in Baltimore was in fact, a total team win. With outstanding plays on offense, defense, and special teams at critical moments, the Raiders were able to do just enough to snatch a victory from Baltimore.

It was a day when the Raiders weren’t at their best. They had trouble with a Baltimore defense that looked very much like the league’s second best unit. Despite the uphill fight though, they still managed to find a way to win a game that a few years ago, they would have found a way to lose.

It was a good win. An important win. And can potentially be a stepping stone to bigger, better things. But for now, let’s take a look at what was good, what was bad, and what was downright ugly from that win over the Ravens.
