We’re just about a quarter of the way through the season already, and the San Francisco Giants find themselves four games over .500 at 22-18, and are alone atop the National League West, a game ahead of the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The past week didn’t get off to a great start, as the Giants fell in the first two games of a three-game series with the Toronto Blue Jays. They bounced back on Wednesday, needing 13 innings to beat the Blue Jays and avoid being swept. After a Happy Flight to Arizona for a four-game series with the Diamondbacks, the Giants really got back on track.

The Giants were swept in a four-game set by the Diamondbacks in San Francisco in April, and they took the opportunity to return the favor. San Francisco took all four games from Arizona at Chase Field, getting great pitching performances and some late-inning heroics to run their season-best win streak to five games.

After an off-day on Monday, the Giants finish their road trip with three games in San Diego, then head back home to host the juggernaut Chicago Cubs for three games. Before we look ahead, let’s look back at the week that was and recognize some players who stood out.
