Klay Thompson wasn’t the only one happy with his four-year, $70 million “max” extension with the Golden State Warriors.

Everything seemed great in Golden State. After what seemed like years of negotiating, the Warriors had finally come to an agreement with Thompson’s camp and locked up “the best two-way two-guard” in the NBA on a long-term contract.

And while some could argue that Thompson rightfully deserves his new deal and has proven both in FIBA competition and early season NBA games that he’s worth the money, the fact of the matter is Thompson’s extension has become a central factor in determining what direction the organization will take over the course of the next three seasons.
