Perhaps the San Francisco 49ers have been forced to change their style of play due to the recent injuries and suspensions. Sure, they won. That’s normal. But the way they won is what’s different that years past.

The 49ers didn’t allow a single 100-yard rusher in the 2013 regular season (Seattle’s Marshawn Lynch rushed for 109 yards in the NFC Championship Game). The 49ers also rarely allow a rushing touchdown, but San Francisco allowed Dallas’ DeMarco Murray to accomplish both feats.

The last two times San Francisco allowed a 100-yard rusher, they lost. On Sunday, they won. Could this signal a changing of the guard in San Francisco?

We’ll have to wait and see about that, but let’s take an inside look at what the Week One win means for the 49ers.
