Uribe provided the Giants offensive with some pop while filling in ably at three infield spots after coming over as a free agent from the Chicago White Sox the previous winter. He had a terrific second half from a power standpoint, hitting .279/.329/.521 with 10 doubles, three triples and 12 homers to go with 35 RBI in 61 games after the break. Uribe had a monster final month, hitting .325/.374/.596 with eight homers and 23 RBI in 30 games. He was sort of a Swiss army knife in the lineup, as well, hitting anywhere from second through eighth. His 32 starts in the No. 7 hole were the most he had at any spot in the order, but he hit five home runs each while batting fifth and eighth and hit .337 in the sixth spot.
