As if building the new stadium in the heart of Silicon Valley wasn’t enough, the San Francisco 49ers have agreed on a 10-year deal with Yahoo! as a founding partner with Levi’s Stadium.

Yahoo! will provide exclusive online sports content, social networking, and photo and video sharing partner for the new stadium and the 49ers.

This is an extremely smart move on the part of Yahoo!, who is looking to re-brand itself among the other media giants. With Levi’s Stadium being a state-of-the-art facility, equipped with the latest technology, you can bet that it will pay big dividends for Yahoo!.

“The 49ers are thrilled to partner with Yahoo!, a locally-based, global brand that shares our vision for Levi’s Stadium,” said 49ers Chief Executive Officer Jed York in a press release. “Yahoo! is a tremendous example of Silicon Valley innovation at work. Their experience in servicing the fan and wealth of resources will serve integral roles as we strive to present an unparalleled experience to visitors of Levi’s Stadium.”

Yahoo! will be given the rights to the Fantasy Football lounge in the stadium, so look for lots of logos and signs located around the stadium.

“We’re thrilled that two iconic brands have come together around a common goal of providing the most inspiring and entertaining fan experience in all of sports,” said Kathy Savitt, Yahoo! Chief Marketing Officer. “We couldn’t be more excited to be a part of what will be an incredible environment at Levi’s Stadium.”
