According to former NFL defensive tackle Esera Tuaolo, there is a gay player on the 49ers.

Tuaolo, who is also gay, told SI the following:

"Chris [Culliver], I’ve got news for you. There is a gay player on your team."

This comes as a response to Culliver’s remarks that he would not welcome gay players on the team.

“I don’t do the gay guys man,” said Culliver on Wednesday. ”I don’t do that. No, we don’t got no gay people on the team, they gotta get up out of here if they do.”

The 49ers issued a statement rejecting Culliver’s comments, and Culliver apologized profusely this morning to the media.

Tuaolo played nine seasons in the NFL, including four with the Vikings and two with the Packers. He came out as gay in 2002.
