Per our own Fansided network, Cal wide receiver Keenan Allen is out indefinitely with an injured posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) injury in his left knee.

He sustained the injury on an onside kick in the final minutes of a 49-27 loss to Utah last week.

Head coach Jeff Tedford said that Allen will not require surgery, but ruled him out of Friday night’s game against Washington.

“We have to see how he recovers,” Tedford told reporters. “We’re not going to put him in jeopardy by any means. We’re definitely going to look out for his best interests. It just depends.”

Allen leads Cal with 61 catches for 737 yards and six touchdowns this season, and should be a first round pick if he declares for the NFL Draft after this season.

With Allen out, the Examiner reports that the Bears may try to use the run a bit more, citing their “three solid running backs in Isi Sofele, C.J. Anderson, and former UW commit Brendan Bigelow.”
