Oakland Raiders: 3 players to target ahead of the trade deadline
By Justin Fried
2. Quinton Dunbar, CB
Following the trade of Gareon Conley earlier in the week, it’s clear that the Raiders intend to target cornerbacks ahead of the trade deadline.
And while much of the focus will be on high-profile, expensive players such as Patrick Peterson, Xavien Howard, and Chris Harris Jr., Washington Redskins cornerback Quinton Dunbar has quietly been better than all three this year.
At 27-years-old, Dunbar has battled injuries throughout his five-year career but has been a reliable chess piece in Washington’s secondary for a few years now. But this season, reliability has turned into stardom.

Dunbar is currently Pro Football Focus’ No. 1 rated cornerback and it’s not even really close. His 92.4 PFF grade is nearly six points higher than the second-highest-graded corner — that being Jonathan Jones of the New England Patriots.
Since 2016, only nine cornerbacks have managed to finish a season with a 90.0+ grade from PFF. Some of those names include players like Stephon Gilmore, Jalen Ramsey, Casey Hayward, Kendall Fuller, and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie.
Dunbar is on pace to join that illustrious list.
The former undrafted free agent is on a very cheap, affordable deal that expires after next season but the Redskins might be willing to part ways with him for the right price. A mid-round pick seems reasonable for a player who’s having an outlier year but is on a cheap contract.
Dunbar might not be as high-profile as other names, but he might just be the best name on the market that nobody has heard of.
And he might just be the best cornerback on the market — period.
