Stock Neutral: Keelan Doss, Trayvon Mullen, Hunter Renfrow

Keelan Doss got the start on the outside this week, logging 29 snaps, good for 44% of the offensive plays. He finished with a career-high 54 yards on three receptions, one of those going for a career-long of 31 on 3rd-and-11 late in the first quarter.

That drive ended with a touchdown so that was a big play early in the game as it put the Raiders up 14-10 over the Green Bay Packers.

Zay Jones may very well suit up next week so this may reduce the number of opportunities Doss gets in the coming weeks, but that is reliant on whether or not Jones will replace Trevor Davis or Doss, if either at all considering he may need more time to learn the playbook.

Doss may have mediocre numbers, but he’s gotten more opportunities in every consecutive game he has played and has looked more comfortable out there. As an undrafted free agent from a small school that really has no business starting this early in his career, that is all you can ask for.

Like Doss, Hunter Renfrow‘s numbers also look mediocre. But also like Doss, he has looked more comfortable on the field as the weeks go on.

Despite a large portion of Raiders fans expecting him to come in and be a solid slot receiver right away, the Clemson product was a fifth-round pick for a reason and it would be unfair to hold him to those unrealistic standards so early.

Renfrow finished the game with two receptions for 14 yards, both catches going for first downs. It would be nice to see him more involved in the offense with the depleted receiving core the Raiders have been fielding, but the rookie has done something similar to what he did in his college career.

Of Renfrow’s 14 receptions, nine have gone for first downs. Renfrow was nicknamed “3rd-and-Renfrow” at Clemson because of his knack for making clutch catches. And while he hasn’t made many big plays, he is moving the chains and living up to that moniker.

Hopefully, he starts getting more receptions while still maintaining the high first-down catch percentage.

Trayvon Mullen only played one defensive snap throughout the whole game on Sunday. You could argue that should put his stock down, but with the recent trade of Gareon Conley should give him increased opportunities.

Mullen is slated to start in his place and will be able to show whether or not he has improved since his poor Week 1 performance against the Denver Broncos which was the only game this season where he saw significant playing time.

Mullen has shown that he is willing to tackle and has looked solid versus the run in his limited playing time. That is the complete opposite of Conley, who often shies away from contact, which is only acceptable if you are a blanket in coverage.

Unfortunately, that has not been the case for the former first-round pick so the second-rounder Mullen will finally give us something to evaluate after seven weeks.
