Trade #1: OAK receives: Stefon Diggs (WR) & 2020 6th Round Pick (MIA); MIN receives: DeVante Parker (WR) & 2020 1st Round Pick (OAK/CHI) & MIA receives: 2020 4th Round Pick (OAK) & 2020 4th Round Pick (MIN)

This won’t be a simple trade by any means if the Raiders want to get it done this season.

Bill Barnwell of ESPN speculates the same, and even put together this hypothetical trade to send Diggs to Oakland. It’s a good starting point for the speculator trade packages.

In order to get this all done, the lowly Miami Dolphins would have to be included.

And it makes sense. The Dolphins have not looked pretty this season, and virtually every player on the team wants out. Miami is looking to flip as many of those players into draft assets as possible.

It makes them one of the perfect teams to include in this deal. But to get into it, they’ll need to bring something to bargain.

If it were to go down this way, the Raiders would not only get Diggs, but additionally a 2020 6th Round pick. The pick would be a huge lift for a franchise that’s been stockpiling picks to beef up the hand-chosen prospects of Jon Gruden’s list.

The Vikings, of course, would have to part ways with their star receiver, but they’d also be bringing back a weapon in DeVante Parker. While Parker hasn’t fully fleshed out into a breakout star, he’s become a dependable weapon at a relatively cheap price tag.

Parker has a club option on him headed into next season at just over $4 million. But he’d be a slightly cheaper alternative to Diggs without any concern for discontentment. Plus, he’d have no guaranteed money on his contract after this season

He brings a physical presence as a wideout and can still serve as a vertical threat for a Vikings team that hopes to contend for a Super Bowl this year.

To go along with that, the Raiders would obviously have to give up some sizable draft capital. In this case, they’d have the lower of their two first-round picks in the 2020 draft headed to Minnesota.

On paper, the spirit of this trade is on track for what would need to happen in order to have Diggs moved during the season.

But even Barnwell admits that he doesn’t see that as a likely choice. And, frankly, with this trade, I don’t think it gets done either. The idea of the trade is enticing, but the pieces are wrong.

The Vikings probably feel that they wouldn’t have to give up a mid-round draft pick along with their top offensive asset in this trade. They probably don’t buy into Parker quite that much either.

The valuation from Miami’s perspective is probably pretty accurate, if not leaning slightly in the Dolphins’ favor. They’d be turning a player into a mid-round draft pick and moving up with another pick. That’s a win in their book.

If this trade were to be offered, the Raiders should absolutely take it and run. They’re going to have to give up a first-rounder regardless if they want Diggs, but they’d still be swapping a fourth for a sixth.

It essentially checks out as giving up the lower of their two firsts for a number one receiver would help the Raiders both now and into the future.

The reality is that the Vikings are going to be tough to please in trades like these. They’ll want someone who is not only dependable, but also an impact player that can supplement the loss of Stefon Diggs.

Parker probably doesn’t entice them enough, especially if it means they have to give something up for him. That’s a Parker for a fourth-rounder and a first-rounder for Diggs from their perspective.

They’d be better off splitting up the deal if they really wanted to go after a player like Parker.
