Stock Down: Hunter Renfrow, Clelin Ferrell

With the receiver core banged up to the point where career return man Trevor Davis and recently undrafted free agent Keelan Doss got the starts on the outside, you would have expected Hunter Renfrow to be more involved and have the chance to step up and show what he was drafted for.

More from Golden Gate Sports

Well with five targets, he was more involved than the past couple of weeks where he had three and four respectively, but he did not step up. Renfrow only caught one of those five passes for 12 yards.

It is clear Renfrow needs to get stronger as he struggles to catch in traffic most of the time and his soft hands are worthless if he can’t get his hands on the ball in the first place due to physical coverage.

Clelin Ferrell was out this week with a concussion, but he’s coming off a couple of games where you wouldn’t know he was on the field.

On top of that, Crosby got his first career sack starting in his place and just looks like an overall better edge rusher thus far despite being picked three rounds later and from a small school.

Ferrell will need to make some type of impact next week for his name to be off of this list.

It is still early in the season so one good performance can change his “stock” in the eyes of fans and media given that he hasn’t been necessarily bad, just average and disappointing for his draft position.
