As a casual football fan myself, I can’t claim to be an expert on this year’s Super Bowl or the sport in general, but I do think that the Panthers have a slight edge to take home football’s top prize this year. In my opinion, the Panthers defense is simply too strong and will be able to effectively shut down Peyton Manning, preventing him from really executing the plays that he will want to make.

  • Peyton is crafty with a fantastic defense of his own, but Cam Newton has youth and increased mobility on his side, giving him more options. Personally, I’m really looking forward to seeing the matchup between Luke Kuechly and Peyton and how both of them are going to work against each other. Kuechly has brute strength on his side, but Peyton knows all too well how to work plays around tough linebackers.

I expect Cam to have a fantastic game on his way to winning his first of many MVPs. Ultimately; I think that it will be a very close game, but that the Panthers will prevail with the score being around 24-17, perhaps even closer if all goes according to plan for both teams.

At the end of the day, win or lose, it will still a remarkable ending chapter to Peyton’s career, but I think this game will signal the changing of the guard to a new generation of talented quarterbacks.
